"When I was made aware of the possibility of signing there (in Frankfurt), I immediately agreed. Now, I have to settle my situation with Saint-Étienne, which is complicated. When I arrived in Saint-Étienne this winter, things were very clear with the leaders. I was coming for six months on loan. Everton wanted to impose a purchase option (estimated at around €2.3 million), but Saint-Étienne did not ask for it at the base, especially given the situation and the maintenance in Ligue 2 which was not yet acquired. In the end, Everton insisted and the option to buy was included, but we had decided not to talk about it.
The former Everton player insists he was only meant to be there for six months and not one more: "It was on that basis that I was brought in. We never had talked about something else before I arrived to sign my contract."
Today, the player has only one idea in mind, to join Germany and Frankfurt-am-Main. He also spoke with Laurent Batlles to tell him of his desire to leave: "They know very well what I think. I already said it on the last day of the Championship and many times since. I have the ambition to play in the First Division, I think it's normal for any player to want it. Since I came back, I've only seen the coach. I briefed him on the situation, he obviously wasn't. He now knows my intentions. I would have understood that I would be blocked if I had made a long-term commitment and tried to leave after six months. not the case and that changes everything. I am not a footballer who makes a whim to go higher. I just want to be respected what I was told to convince me to sign. So thank you to the leaders and to the supporters, and if I can help Saint-Étienne to rise thanks to my transfer, I would be the first to be delighted.
If I have to tell them every day that I want to leave, I will. I won't get tired. Now, keeping a player against his will, I believe is not the right solution. I sincerely hope that the situation will be resolved quickly because I worry every day with this story rather than focusing on my football."
Galiu suprast žaidėjo norą išvykti, bet negaliu suprast tokio spaudimo klubui per spaudą, kuris padėjo atgaivint žaidėjo karjerą, leido būt pakviestam į Euro U21, sulaukt pelningesnės algos pasiūlymo, atrast savo geriausią poziciją ir futbolą. Nepagarbu.
